Ok ladies… listen up!
I have like 100 kids. It’s really only four but after kid 2, I rarely make stops anywhere for ME with said 100 kids because you know…. I mean do I really have to explain? Ok, plainly put… it’s more hassle than it’s worth and it’s a pain in the booty.
So, the one place I used to love to go to for ME was the jeweler to get my rings cleaned. Because it sounds silly, but I like to keep my wedding rings shiny because I feel like it reminds me to take care of my marriage, I proudly wear them as a symbol that my hubby was the one to nail me down and convince me to retire from my dream race car driving job was worth it and because baby lotion and sunscreen dulls them up bad.
Anyhow… I have tried a million jewelry cleaners and nothing gets that jewelry store BLING. So I started googling (ALL HAIL GOOGLE) and found I few to try. Interestingly enough the simplest one works the best and is jeweler approved and suggested for at home cleaning.
Here’s what you need:
- Small glass container
- 1/2 Cup Windex
- 2 drops of dish soap
- Soft bristle toothbrush
Here’s what you do:
- Heat up mixture for 30 seconds in microwave
- Let jewelry sit in mixture for 5-10 minutes for quick clean or longer for deep clean (I usually throw in while I jump in the shower and take out once I’m all done getting ready)
- Use toothbrush to get off remaining crud that didn’t come off in mixture
- Rinse under lukewarm water over another dish (incase you drop it)
- Dry with paper towel
That’s it. So simple. You’ll do it every week just like me. Honestly, the thing people compliment me most about my rings isn’t how beautiful they are but how sparkly they are. And of course, I am always excited to share how to make their own rings bling at home with this simple recipe.
