PRINTABLE FAMILY SUMMER LISTS – DAILY, BUCKET, & CHORES

Summer in Upstate NY goes super fast and we try to do ALL THE THINGS so that means we have to be super intentional with our time and plan ahead.  It also means that my kids have to be big helpers but they need a little help and reminders to do that.

Enter our kids daily checklists, chore ideas and summer bucket list.  After sharing these on my Instagram “stories” this past weekend, a lot of you asked for your own printable version so I included them below (Just click on the pics to print your own blank version)

For the daily check lists, we listed out everything expected of them if they’d like to have any free time, special time or screen time.  Yes, my kids put all their clothes away.  You’ll notice, each list is similar but we made it age appropriate for my boys who are ages 7 and 5 by including pictures for Tino who hasn’t learned to read yet.   Screen time includes TV or tablet time.  My kids DO NOT get tablet time every day as they turn into rude, obnoxious, miserable beasts when it becomes any more than an occasional privilege.  And we limit television time to no more than an hour per day but many days they don’t watch it at all.

For our summer bucket list, we included many small, easy things that we may do more than once but we also included a few bigger destination things that they have loved doing in the past and a new one or two that will be a first for our family. You’ll notice the paint and hide rocks and the 10 acts of random kindness – both of those will be fun for us and use our blessings and gifts to bring joy to others.  This entire list for us is about having fun through memory making experiences.

Our chore list is small but what we feel it’s age appropriate for our children.  Our kids are required to each help with at least two of them a day.  As a family of 6 there is no possible way I could do all the household stuff while running 3 businesses with 4 little’s by my side most of the time.  Plus as a mom of 3 boys, I want to instill in them equality and the valuable life lesson like being an equal partner in the household just as in our careers.

I’d love to hear any ideas that made your list but didn’t make mine.  Share them below.

Happy Summer my friends!

Xoxo,

Jessie
